1. What is the Whistler Chamber of Commerce?

The Whistler Chamber of Commerce is the leading business organization in Whistler with a mission of helping our members achieve business success to create thriving businesses in a resilient mountain resort community. All activities conducted by the Chamber including the business supports we provide through programs, events and various communication streams are a means to achieve this main objective.

2. How are the activities of the Chamber funded?

The Chamber’s core operations are funded by annual membership fees and other revenue generating activities including sponsorship, boardroom rental and advertising revenue. We are not funded by the government.

3. Who runs the Chamber?

The Chamber is run by a 11 member Board of Directors. The Board, serving as volunteers, sets the overall vision and supporting goals and objectives of the organization. The Chamber employs staff to execute the Chamber’s vision, goals and objectives.

4. What is the benefit of being a Chamber member?

Membership is the key that opens the door to a variety of  resources, services and programs to support talent development and successful business operations. We make it fun and easy to create strong and meaningful B2B and community relationships through networking and events. Members can access value added programs that support business including the Chamber Group Insurance Plan, the Spirit Pass Program and discounted merchant services. These valued added programs have the potential to generate savings that far exceed the cost of membership. We also provide a unified voice to raise awareness of what’s happening in the Whistler business community and help enable business success.

5. How does the Chamber select service providers and suppliers?

The Chamber selects service providers and suppliers based on their ability to deliver the highest value to the membership based on excellent product or service quality, proven expertise and competitive pricing.  All factors being equal, the Chamber will select service providers and suppliers who are Chamber members.
