Culinary Recruiting Pilot Morocco
Powered by the Whistler Chamber
Supported by the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, Culinary Recruitment International is excited to offer a pilot project for properties that require culinary talent. After completing a successful recruiting trip to Morocco in September for two clients, they are happy to extend this project in an accessible way to the Whistler Chamber Membership – opening this opportunity to smaller employers looking for culinary talent.
The Moroccan cooks are trained in the classic French style and currently work as Sous Chefs, CDP’s and line cooks.
How it Works
CRI will fly Grant Cousar (CEO, Owner, Whistler Cooks and Hunter Gather) on a recruitment trip to Morocco in March 2019 to interview on your behalf. Well known in the Whistler community, Grant is a Chef and an Entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. He has been heavily involved with the Whistler Chamber of Commerce on strategic initiatives focused on recruitment, attraction and retention of staff.
CRI will screen applicants and arrange for Grant to meet them on your behalf. During his trip you will be given a time slot to review the applicants that Grant has selected as your candidates. CRI will then arrange a short Skype conversation for you and the candidate, to approve their hire. Employees hired through this program are eligible for two 2-year work permits tied specifically to the sponsoring employer.
Next Steps
This pilot-project is designed to assist the properties looking for between 1 and 4 cooks with a cost of $1,800 per cook plus $230 Government fee, or $565 amortized over a 4 year period.
The Whistler Chamber is scheduled for March 24 – 31, 2019. Expected start date of hires will be June 2019.
If this sounds like it could work for your organization please email Joel Chevalier at Joel@CulinaryRI.com
Please email no later than February 21, 2019, for our March Interviews taking place in Morocco.
