Meet Creel Concepts – Our November Chamber Après Hosts
Next month’s Chamber Après is taking place at The Hangar in Function Junction, hosted by a Member with a lot of stories to tell! Creel Concepts are bringing Whistler’s business community together at one of their spaces to showcase some of the exciting things they are currently working on, and rumour has it that there’s going to be some fun activities to get involved in… but that’s all we’re saying. We caught up with them to find out a little bit more about their ideas, ahead of the event next week. We hope to see you on November 5 to Hang Out in Function with Creel Concepts.
Business bio:
Creel Concepts is a Whistler based start-up incubator and accelerator that invests in local businesses and helps local businesses grow. A few of the brands that are currently under the Creel Concepts umbrella are Alpine Riding, The Hangar, ULLR Adventure Maps, X-treme Organics, Mini Organics and Rockit Log.
What is your business’ PURPOSE?
To support local entrepreneurs whose innovative ideas are fueled by adrenaline and endorphins.
What is your business’ VISION for the future?
As a company, we continue to help our brands grow and evolve so that they can reach their next level of success.
What are your business’ VALUES?
Bringing new and interesting Whistler-inspired mountain activities to the rest of the world.
What do you think makes your business special?
Both Whistler and the Sea to Sky Corridor attract people from all around the world who come here for various reasons. Our common love for the mountains and community, along with the creative ideas that come from local entrepreneurs, is what fuels us.
What challenges have you come across with running and business in Whistler and how did you overcome it?
We noticed that a lot of entrepreneurs are working in silos. We created a space to support these entrepreneurs where they have access to our internal team who specialize in things like marketing, book keeping and IT. This helps them grow their brands more efficiently.
Describe one major learning curve you have experienced with your business:
By creating an environment to foster and grow entrepreneurs’ ideas helps them to be more rooted in the community. Our office provides a professional space for our team to work, have meetings and create.
One piece of advice you would give to current or aspiring Whistler business owners:
Starting a business in Whistler can feel challenging but it’s not impossible. Make sure to find the support you need and remember that there are plenty of resources available to you, right in your own beautiful backyard.
Why did you want to host Chamber Après and can you let us in on any of the exciting things happening at the event on November 5?
We wanted to host a Chamber Après so that we could showcase the Creel Concepts’ brands while creating a really fun networking event. Our event will be full of surprises and the only way to find out what we have up our sleeves is to be there on November 5th!
